ABC Brasil’s main objectives is to support the sustainable development of its clients
To achieve this, it has an area specialized in ESG Advisory, which seeks to boost new businesses with a positive impact on the transition to a low-carbon economy through innovative products and solutions.
Below are some of the categories, partnerships, projects and solutions that have a sustainability bias.
BNDES Onlending Products
- FUNDO CLIMA: Financing for the implementation of projects, acquisition of machinery and equipment and technological development related to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and adaptation to climate change and its effects.
- FINAME BAIXO CARBONO: Intended for the acquisition and sale of solar and wind power generation systems, solar heaters, electric buses and trucks, hybrids and those powered exclusively by biofuels, as well as machinery and equipment with higher levels of energy efficiency or which contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
- FGENERGIA: BNDES’ Energy Efficiency Credit Guarantee Program. Aimed at micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), it provides resources to implement energy efficiency actions, promoting the reduction of energy consumption and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Aimed at companies with a turnover of up to R$ 300 MM and ESCOs (Energy Services Companies).
- RENOVAGRO: This program allocates funds to finance investments that contribute to reducing the environmental impacts caused by agricultural activities.
- INOVAGRO: Promotes financing for the incorporation of technological innovations into rural properties, with a view to increasing productivity, adopting best agricultural and rural property management practices, and the competitive insertion of rural producers into different consumer markets.
- MODERAGRO: Financing for projects to modernize and increase productivity in the agricultural sector and for actions aimed at soil recovery and animal protection.
ESG Debt Securities in the Local Capital Markets
ABC Brasil works on structuring ESG debt securities issues in the local capital markets following the guidelines provided by the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) and best market practices, and in line with the principles of the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), fostering sustainability through operations and relationships with its clients, contributing to building a fairer and more sustainable society.
- SUSTAINABLE FINANCIAL BILLS AND CDBs: Defined as fixed-income securities used to raise funds to finance sustainable economic activities, their purpose is to generate positive social impact in accordance with the Sustainable Loans Principals and Sustainable Bonds Principals, in their four key pillars: use of resources; project evaluation and selection process; resource management; and reporting.

ESG Fundraising
These fundraisings correspond to the company’s own issuances (green, social or sustainable) in which the funds raised must be directed to the financing or refinancing of admissible green and/or social investments in ABC Brasil’s credit portfolio, in line with the “Sustainable Finance Framework”.

ABC Brasil’s Sustainable Finance Framework
- We have developed our SFF (Sustainable Finance Framework), a set of internal guidelines that determine criteria and standards for future financing labeled as “sustainable”, creating opportunities for new green and social businesses;
- With the Second Party Opinion, the document sets the standards for ESG funding and solutions (assets and services), allowing the issuance of sustainable funding products (CDB, Financial Bills, Bonds).

Energy Trading Company
Starting operations in 2020, the ABC Brasil’s Energy Trading Company operates in forward contract transactions and free market trading. Its client profile includes generators, consumers and other energy traders. Most of them are companies in the Corporate and C&IB segments.
The portfolio of services includes negotiating short, medium and long-term contracts (PPA), selling energy in dollars and extending existing contracts. The unit is working to diversify the solutions it offers.
